The connector on my bike was under the seat - I always wondered what that handy tube was that I strap my Starcom to. The Hex Code site has pics of the location for all models which all seem to be easily accessible (I had hoped this wasn't a tank off job - and luckily I was spared the pleasure!).

All I had to do then was remove the protective cover from the connector, push and twist on the GS-911, connect the USB lead to the Netbook then fire up the software!
